North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR)

The North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine (NEIAFMR), Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The Institute is located at Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. The construction of Hospital, Administrative buildings and Guest House under Phase –I of the project are completed and expected to be commissioned soon.

The northeastern region of India, comprising the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, endowed with a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna, has a rich and vast heritage of traditional folk medicine practices, remedies and therapies

The Union Cabinet accorded approval for establishment of the NEIFM on 21st February, 2008 on the recommendations of the Steering Committee of the Planning Commission on AYUSH for the 11th Plan. The Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh allotted 40 acres of land for the institute at Pasighat, headquarters of East Siang District and one of the oldest towns in the state. It is located on the banks of the Siang river (Tsangpo in China & main channel of the Brahmaputra)

The Ministry of AYUSH have assigned HLL Lifecare Ltd. (A GoI Enterprise), NOIDA as the project managers to render the quality construction and to set up the infrastructure of the Institute.
